AKCP, the world’s leader in environment and security monitoring, today announced a free software upgrade to all AKCP Linux-based products (cameraProbe8, sensorProbe8Linux, sensorProbe8Linux-X20, sensorProbe8Linux-X60).
Security has been enhanced by integrating the SSHTerm (Secure Shell Terminal) with an advanced encryption system. This will secure communication between the user interface and the sensor probes. This allows you to modify any of the custom scripts and alter the system settings in a secure environment. The Secure Shell Terminal uses a web interface launched from the cameraProbe8 the so that there is no need for using any windows based applications.
An additional free, integrated sensor is included in this new software release. The sound sensor uses the microphone already included in all AKCP Linux-based products. This sound sensor detects all the sounds based on a percentage of a normal working environment and the duration of the sound. The thresholds can be adjusted for different sound levels (warning and critical) via the web interface. For example, if your normal working environment has high sound levels, then you can adjust the percentage of sound higher than if you environment has less sound levels. This allows for an increased accuracy of sound levels customized for different working conditions and environments.
Once a sound has been detected an alert notification can be transmitted. For e-mail notifications the sound record can be attached. The sound sensor also works in conjunction with a sound log and picture log. These logs record the events as they happen in real-time. If an alert has been raised this would have been recorded in both logs. The sound log would record the sound and the picture log will capture the picture. The time that the alert happened would also be recorded. Both logs can be downloaded and viewed if any unusual events have taken place. The information obtained in these logs would give a better understanding of the situation which caused an alert.
An additional notification method has now been added. An optional fax modem can now be attached to the serial port of all AKCP Linux-based products. When this is connected a fax notification can be sent using a customized message for to up to 5 different phone numbers.
About cameraProbe8 and sensorProbe8Linux
