Remote BTS Tower Monitoring System

Over 30 years experience in sensor monitoring solutions

The mobile network infrastructure must be reliable. Many towers operate on service level agreements (SLA) and meeting this requires almost 100% uptime with heavy penalties for any downtime. Implementing an effective remote monitoring system for the critical infrastructure is essential.

Monitoring Telecom Tower Infrastructure

Mobile network operators and carriers operate the nationwide infrastructure of Telecom Towers. Known as Base Station Transceiver Stations (BTS) they form the major component of the GSM cellular network. They transmit and receive radio signals coming to and from mobile phones. The towers have BTS shelters which house the electronic communications equipment that is connected to the antennas on the BTS tower. AKCP sensors are used to monitor environmental conditions in the shelters, as well as an interface to third-party equipment for remote monitoring.

Due to many BTS sites being in remote locations, security and power can be issues that are of major concern. Protecting the site from thieves and vandalism, as well as ensuring 100% uptime requires a robust approach to monitoring security, controlling site access, and maintaining power.

Base Transceiver Station Tower Site Monitoring System

To achieve the high availability and reliability of the BTS Tower Sites, it is essential that the operating environment within the shelter is maintained. Temperature control is through HVAC systems. The air conditioning units carry the risk of malfunction, and when they do temperatures within BTS tower site shelters can rise rapidly putting equipment under stress and leading to failures. With AKCP temperature and Humidity sensors you are ensured that the operating environment within the BTS shelters is stable.

AKCPro Server – Central Monitoring Software

AKCPro Server central monitoring software displays data collected from all temperature and humidity sensors installed at BTS Tower Sites. If you have multiple locations monitor all sites from one interface.

Graphing, History and Reports

Logging of all data on AKCPro Server centralized monitoring platform. From your operations center, monitor the entire BTS tower infrastructure, mapping with drill down from global to local and individual site plans. Generate reports, alerts, and notifications, view the security status and control access to BTS tower sites.

Maintain Uptime and Meet SLA’s

Tower operators must meet their commitments defined in Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Failure to do so results in financial losses and network downtime. Remote monitoring of power and site security ensures that BTS towers are operational and backup power systems ready when called upon.

Cross Platform Access

Access the AKCPro Server user interface from any device such as a laptop, smartphone, Windows or Linux machine. All you need is a web browser (Google Chrome recommended). There are no apps to install or packages to download.

sensorCFD

sensorCFD™ is a free add-on for AKCPro Server. Use it as traditional CFD modelling of your data center with predictions of performacne and airflow. Add in AKCP sensors and you have sensor constrained CFD modeling with actual values and performance data.

Hardware

AKCP has a wide range of sensors. Speciality sensors for the data center include cabinet thermal maps, contactless current sensors and power meters. Close integration of AKCP sensors with AKCPro Server gives a complete end to end monitoring solution for your data center.

Important Note:

Please make a backup of your existing server before making any updates. Please check the notes BEFORE installing AKCPro Server

Upgrading:
If you are upgrading from a previous version of AKCPro Server on the same computer, you will need to re-activate your license so your connected hosts (base units) will remain enabled (About >> License Page) after the upgrade is completed.

Note: All of your settings will remain the same when upgrading. However, if the total number of hosts (AKCP base units) connected to your previous version exceeds the default number (4) of free host licenses, then the additional hosts will be disabled. If this is the case, or you do not have an Internet connection please contact our support team
su*****@ak**.com and include the details of your current license.

New Installations:
If you are downloading and installing the AKCPro Server on a computer that did not contain any previous version then you will receive 4 hosts (AKCP base units), 5 virtual sensors and 4 sensorProbe licenses for free by default.
