AKCP, the world’s oldest and largest supplier of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions has upgraded their temperature sensors to be NIST traceable, calibrated sensors.
“If you are spending money for monitoring, wouldn’t you like to know that your sensors are calibrated?”
AKCP has announced that their standard temperature sensors (TMP00 and TMP01) are receiving upgraded technology. The digital temperature sensor has been a mainstay of the AKCP sensor product line for over 30 years. It launched the environmental monitoring industry for the data center.
These sensors are standard on the sensorProbe+, SPX+, and securityProbe base units. Each sensor features two NIST traceable, certified, and calibrated temperature sensors. These temperature sensors work in tandem, cross-checking each other to alert should the two sensor values vary by greater than 1°C, notifying the user that the sensors are out of calibration. This sensor technology, available as a standard in all AKCP platforms is a unique differentiator between AKCP and its competitors.

Customers have the option of upgrading to a NIST3 version which features three calibrated, NIST certified temperature sensors in a single stainless steel tube. As with the NIST2 the values are cross-checked on the primary pair of sensors. Should they be found to be out of calibration the sensor will failover to the backup temperature sensor. For critical monitoring applications such as vaccines, foodstuffs, and temperature-sensitive goods, this function provides reliable and accurate continuous data logging and monitoring.
NIST2 and NIST3 sensors are available now from AKCP, and will ship as standard with all bundled base units and sensors. For those customers who have in-field sensorProbe devices, AKCP supports the dual temperature and humidity sensor (THS00).
AKCP established in the USA in 1981, has 30+ years experience in professional sensor solutions. AKCP created the market for networked temperature, environmental and power monitoring in the data center. Today with over 150 employees and 200,000 installations, AKCP is the world’s oldest and largest manufacturer of networked wired and wireless sensor solutions.
